I might suggest when you cut your first stringer that you use that as a template. That way all of your stringers are identical. The other thing that comes to mind was the first riser was not the same as the rest of them, this might be a tripping hazard. I did not understand why you did that. Thank you.

Hi! I am considering the snap toggle anchor for my towel hooks because afraid my kids might yank on the towels. However, I have a question. Is there a minimum distance between each anchor? I wonder if drilling two 1/2" holes close by each other would weaken the drywall and decrease the weight load. Also thank you for the vid and info.

I’m a broadcast electrician. Considerably different skill set.. Enjoyed the video, very succinct and informative. Only issue I see is “legal vs not to code”. Incorrect work is only illegal if the local or state jurisdiction has written NEC into statue. Several jurisdictions in the U.S. do not have code as statue thus the statement is “not to NEC code. A few jurisdictions in the U.S. did not even recognize NEC. Not sure if they still exist as I have no need to go back.

I’ve long been a fan of the Pink stuff from Dap, but you are right on size of the repair. I have used the stuff on slightly larger patches, and it will work, with the right touch. Obviously bigger holes/patches go with ‘GP’ mud for taping/ initial filling, and finish with ‘PLUS 3’ for second and even final skim coat(s). Of course there are many brands out there, so go with what You know. YMMV 👍

I love my hedges but I have been ignoring them for yrs and some of them died on me because of English Ivy. This thing can be deadly if you are not careful and I wasn't. I have since cleaned out all the English Ivy and now I am on a replanting and fertilizing program on my hedges. I have primarily Forsythia but I am mixing it up this time with Arbovitae and others.

Put your template up and cut out drywall before removing existing. Gives you more room to work without wallboard in your way.

No attic access required, here let me cut out a big chunk of drywall so I have access to the attic.

Thank you for posting this. It was very helpful. Some additional information though; Carbon monoxide detection should be done at the lowest points of each floor, as it is heavier than air. This means that by the time it reaches the ceiling, the house could be at dangerous levels. For this reason, it’s good to have separate detectors plugged in to outlets outside of bedrooms too.
